TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP AND MEMBERS
Please read carefully. These terms and conditions are valid from 01 July 2020 and supersede all previous versions. Completing a membership application form and accepting entrance into our organisation means that you agree to the terms and conditions.
Applicants for membership are required to complete an application form that includes their real first and last name plus the residential address of where they live. Applications without this will not be approved unless there are extenuating circumstances and then management may ask for proof of service. We will not accept postal addresses in lieu of a residential address.
Membership is only open to the following;
Police including (Serving or Former Members) those employed by the Police in a Protective Services role. This does not include privately contracted security guards even if they protect Police Assets.
Firefighters: Full Time or Volunteer, Regional or Rural. This includes those who are directly employed by, mining, refineries, and factories plus those employed as a firefighter with the National Parks or Wildlife Service.
Nurses and Doctors who are or have worked for Emergency Services including the various Aeromedical services or St John or the RFDS, Psych Nurses who have worked on PACER Teams or similar or have or are certified as First Responders. Nurses who work in public emergency departments or hospitals or have received specific training in responding to and treating trauma within the community above what nursing staff are already trained in.
Paramedics Including rural and community Volunteers.
Military Emergency Services include Service Police, medics and nurses.
SES
Marine Rescue
Helicopter Rescue and ASAR
Search and Rescue.
Rescue.
Triple 000, 131444 and communications Operators.
Roadside emergency response crews. (Only those designated as Emergency Services and not private companies)
Applications are also considered case by case from those who have served in the above with other countries but are now residents of Australia or retired Australian members now residing overseas. Each application is considered on a case by case basis.
Please note we do NOT accept memberships from partners of first responders, members of the public, the media, or any individual or organisation that offers mental health services or therapy.
Please note that management reserves the right to refuse any application for any reason they see fit.
FRVA often utilises Facebook groups and pages as a method to keep in contact with our members, share resources and information, and to advise members of events or changes. You as a member, will agree to follow our rules and guidelines for the use of our forums and to follow Facebook community standards at all times. Failure to do so may result in the revocation of your membership.
Members are required to keep their posts in the forums on the topic, and the same for those members who are commenting on a member post otherwise that post or comment may be removed and the member making the post or comment may be asked to resign their membership depending upon seriousness, have their membership revoked. If a member has any issues, complaints or comments regarding the management of the FRVA they are to contact management and not post it in any forum. This aims to keep discussions positive wherever possible. Participation is expected and in some social club groups managed by FRVA, it can be mandatory.
Upon joining a group, you are asked a series of questions to ensure that hacked or cloned accounts are not able to gain entry. If a member fails to answer these questions they will not be allowed entry into the group.
If you join one of our Facebook groups, there will be a set of rules and guidelines pinned to the top of each group. You are expected to become familiar with these as any breach may result in being expelled or a membership being revoked.
Feedback and Complaints – We are committed to assisting you with any concerns you may have. And you are welcome to send us an email to and any complaints should be directed to that email and not as a comment to another post in the various forums we operate., In the first instance, FRVA management will endeavour to contact you to discuss and hopefully resolve your complaint. Should you feel that your complaint has not been resolved effectively, management’s decision is final.
Intellectual Property/Trademarks – All brands or trademarks remain the ownership of FRVA and must not be misused in any way. Nothing contained within the website should be construed as granting any license or the right to use any trademark without the prior written consent of FRVA management. These terms and conditions do not give you any intellectual property rights at FRVA, or in our properties, facilities, services or products.
Please read carefully. When you join us, these conditions are deemed to have been accepted by all members who use our services. The FRVA Staff, Facilitators, and Moderators are authorised to ensure that members comply with these Terms and Conditions.
The comments published on our Forums represent a wide range of views and interests of the participating individuals. Statements made during online discussions are the personal opinions of the commentators and do not necessarily reflect those of the FRVA.
The forums and groups operated by First Responder Veterans Australia do NOT provide specific medical or treatment advice for mental health issues and all information, articles, and posts be it by First Responder Veterans Australia or a member of the forums and groups are NOT intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or information. First Responder Veterans Australia is NOT a mental health provider nor are we qualified mental health professionals. You must not allow any other person to use your account to access our forums or the members only online store.,
You must notify us in writing immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.
Your membership card must not be used in such a manner as to mislead; you must not use your account or membership card for or in connection with the impersonation of any person or statutory authority. In addition; your membership card is not to be used to give any person that it is a statement of qualifications. Being a member of FRVA is not a statement of qualifications and you are not permitted to use your membership as to hold yourself out as having any qualifications just because of your membership with this organisation.
Cancellation and suspension of account:
We may:(a) suspend your account;(b) revoke your membership; and/or (c) edit your account details, at any time in our sole discretion without notice or explanation. You may cancel your membership at any time by writing to .
You may not claim any service which you have not completed, claim to have worked for any department which you have not nor hold yourself out to be a person with training for which you have not received.
At any time, a member of FRVA management may request proof of service even after being successful in your membership application.
At any time, management may revoke your membership upon discovery that you do not have the service stated above in who can become a member or such service as you have stated you have in your application.
You are required to contact us if your personal details, phone and email address change.
