Welcome to First Responder Veterans Australia
Fellowship – Recognition – Community
Australia’s Only National Wide Fraternal Organisation for Police and Emergency Services Personnel
(Paid or Volunteer, Serving, Former Members or Retired)
First Responder Veterans Australia was established in 2019 to provide a national community for police and emergency services members, serving, retired, paid and volunteer with a mission to foster recognition of service, and fellowship and to provide first responders with a community. The FRVA is not a workplace advocacy or union nor are we a mental health crisis service. However, we ensure that members are taught how to deal with operational stress and other risks associated with their profession.

First Responder Veterans Australia is a resource for those navigating the intricate responsibilities of their roles. By fostering support, imparting education, and facilitating networking, we endeavour to sustain the well-being of first responders, enhancing their capacity to serve and safeguard their communities. Most importantly though, First Responder Veterans Australia is committed to acknowledging and recognising service, regardless of its duration, emphasising the importance of every first responder’s contribution.
First Responder Veterans Australia is an organisation for serving, retired and former members, both paid and volunteer.
| Thank a First Responder Day – Wednesday 11 June 2025
Thank a First Responder Day is a national day to recognise and appreciate the amazing work that first responders and their families do for our communities. It’s held every year on the second Wednesday in June – this year, that’s Wednesday 11 June 2025.
Across Australia, there are more than 370,000 first responders – including people who work or volunteer with fire services, ambulance, police, SES and marine rescue. They’re the ones who step in when things go wrong. They help in emergencies, deliver heartbreaking news, deal with serious injuries and dangerous situations, and do whatever they can to keep people safe – often at great personal risk.
It’s a tough job, and while it can be rewarding, it also takes a toll. The stress and trauma can affect not just first responders, but their families too. At the end of the day, they’re just regular people – mums, dads, siblings, sons, daughters and mates – who head home to their loved ones after doing extraordinary things.
So this Thank a First Responder Day, take a moment to say thanks. A simple “thank you” means a lot to the people who put themselves on the line to help others.
We see what they do – and we’re grateful. |
